Adding an event

The Events section of the PublishGo CMS allows you to create professional and engaging event listings, flexibility to display them anywhere on the site. Includes advanced photo gallery features and supports Google maps. To add an event, follow the instructions below:

  1. Log in to the Administrator panel.

  2. From the main menu, choose Community. Then choose Events.

  3. Click on the Add button.

  4. Specify the required fields.

  5. You can also add photos using below steps:
    a. Click on Add Photos button under Photo Gallery section.
    b. Here, existing photos are shown in Photo Library tab. Mouse over and select the photos to be added.
    c. You can also upload new photos from Upload Files tab.
    d. Click on Insert button once the photos are selected.
    e. You will see photos listed under the Photo Gallery section. Use drag and drop to reorder the photos.
    f. To set a featured photo, mouse over onto the desired photo and click on the Star icon. Featured photo will be used as a cover photo for your event.

  6. Click on the Save button.


Below are the different fields used while adding an event:

Field Description
Title Enter the title you want to assign to the event.
Category Choose the relevant category from the drop down, new category can be added from Community > Events > Categories page.
Description Input the description of the event from here, directly type or export from other sources. HTML editor can be used to obtain desired results, like making hyperlinks, formatting content and much more.
Sponsor Specify name of the sponsor.
Address Specify address of the event.
City Specify city of the event.
State Specify state of the event.
Zip Code Specify zip code of the event.
Latitude Click on "Set Address on Map" button after filling up all the address details, system will pick latitude value automatically.
Longitude Click on "Set Address on Map" button after filling up all the address details, system will pick longitude value automatically.
Add Photos Upload photos for the event, option for bulk photo upload from the same screen. Hover on the uploaded photo to set a featured photo or to remove it.
Name Specify contact name.
Email Specify contact email.
Phone Specify contact phone.
Website Specify event website.
Date Set date in calendar to publish the event.
Repeats

Events can be set to repeat after a specific amount of time. To set an event to repeat, choose an option from the Repeats menu. Events can be repeated daily, weekly or monthly:

Daily: Choose this option if you want to create events which recur every X days. For example, if you wanted an event to be posted every other day, you would choose Daily from the Repeats menu and enter 2 into Repeat Every option.

Weekly: Choose this recurring option if you want to create events occur on certain days in the week. For example, if you wanted an event to be posted only on the Monday and Tuesday, you would choose Weekly from the Repeats menu and select Monday and Tuesday by clicking on the checkboxes.

Monthly: Choose this recurring option if you want to create events which repeat on specific date of month or day of week. (For example, event which recur on 5th of every month or the second Friday of every month).

Repeat Until Set date in calendar to remove the event from front end.
All Day Event For events running all day, select this check box. No need to set event timings for these type.
Active To make the event live, select this check box.
